O2 Type-Approved Tiny Houses: What a Certified Chassis Gives You

The quality of a tiny house starts with the chassis it stands on. Most Eksado models are built on an O2 type-approved trailer chassis and delivered with its certification.

What does O2 type approval mean?

O2 is the European vehicle category for trailers with a maximum mass between 750 kg and 3,500 kg. Type approval shows that the chassis has been designed, tested and certified to the technical requirements of that category.

In short, the structure carrying your home is not an improvised platform — it is a certified trailer built to standards.

What a certified chassis gives you

• Safe transport: A braked torsion axle and braked coupling keep the loaded trailer under control.
• Durability: S420 MC structural steel with hot-dip galvanising protects the chassis against corrosion.
• Flexibility: When your needs change, your home can be moved with a suitable towing vehicle.
• Confidence: You know exactly what you are buying; the chassis is handed over with its documents.
